Reading is one of the easiest ways to improve your learning.
I often get asked by clients, friends, and family how I manage to read so many books.

Where do they start?
How do I know what to read?
Here is hoping that this little blog helps you to answer these questions…
  1. Read something that you need to learn about.
Reading something that you need to learn about, means you will be more interested in the content. There is nothing worse than trying to read a book that’s hard work. You will get disheartened and never finish it. It will make learning a whole lot easier.
  2. Implement some of the knowledge you have learned.
Retaining information learned in a book can be challenging for most people so take notes always…study, do not just read. I strongly prefer Evernote over other options because 1) it is searchable, 2) it is easy to use across multiple devices, and 3) you can create and save notes even when you’re not connected to the internet.
  3. Read 20 pages a day.
Here’s why I think this pattern works: 20 pages is small enough that it’s not intimidating. Most people can finish reading 20 pages within 30 minutes. And if you do it first thing in the morning, then the urgencies of the day don’t get in the way.

“The best in business spend far more time on learning than in leisure” – Robin Sharma

It makes sense – but how many of us manage to carve out the time for this kind of personal development, even though we know we could be learning about subjects that would massively help the success of our business?

It’s not easy – but that’s why we are launching the ActionCOACH Business BookCLUB.

Visit our launch event on 16th February and learn about our monthly meetings and the books we will be reading.
