How do you motivate your staff??

You all want to be able to motivate your employees as much as possible, and larger salaries are often suggested as the way forward. However, pay rises are not always the best for motivation. They may also not be financially viable for all of you either!

I recently read an entrepreneur.com article suggesting four alternative methods to motivate employees without providing bigger salaries. It highlights that using non-monetary incentives to motivate employees can be just as effective.

One point that stood out to me was to offer your employees a chance to learn desired skills. Provide this type of opportunity, and it can benefit both your employees and company as a whole.

Firstly, it demonstrates to your employees that you believe that they are worth investing in; a belief which is powerful in many ways than just getting what you want. It can help change up the day to day routine and prevent boredom and dissatisfaction from setting in.

Learning new skills may also boost creativity. I believe that enhancing and developing the abilities and knowledge of all employees is a positive undertaking. But the article suggests that it can be done as a reward system for exceptional employees.

By learning something new it not only increases the quality of an employee’s work. It raises their job satisfaction and strengthens your company as a whole in the long run.

Do you have any other suggestions for improving and maintaining employee motivation?
